Blessings this Week: 05.06.2016

It has been an incredible week.

Nothing too profound has happened. Nothing too exciting.

And yet, all those little blessings fill up my days and make every moment so special.

Here's what I've been up to this week:

I don't think I'll ever get bored of these country sunsets.

At the camp where we work, on Saturday-- a cold and super windy day. With all the rain we've been having, the beach is nearly swallowed up by the water, and Trevor had to secure the floating rafts (which were on dry sand only a week ago) to keep them from washing away.

The waves on the lake looked almost more like ocean waves- and we had bits of other people's docks that ended up on the beach. The sheer power of it all was amazing!

Fortunately, by Sunday, the wind died down and the sun came out- perfect for putting my little sprouting trees into pots.

(These will someday be trees. I'll have to write about that another time).

It's been a busy week at work as we really get the ball rolling for summer camp-- but with a view like this one, my office has become a thing of pink flowery beauty.

Bear has spent plenty of time on long walks this week, and we're working on a little obedience training, too.

He's still not so sure about swimming, though... so when a treat got tossed in our pond, he did a one-foot paddle thing to halfheartedly rescue it. Too funny.

(I took a video of this. I uploaded it to Facebook because I couldn't figure out how to get it put up on here. If you want to see it, just click here--> Bear in the Pond)

Behind Trevor's shop at work-- this adorable couple (whom Trevor has named "the Paddletons") have taken up temporary residence in the swamp.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

On the way to and from camp, we drive past the sweetest little cow and calf operation-- and the babies have all arrived. It's so fun to see the calves romping around the pasture.

THIS WEEK

Here at The Speckled Goat, just in case you missed it...

We talked about my poor, dirty house and how I use a cleaning record to help keep track of what I need to do-- and why that works a lot better for me during the crazy summer season.

When it comes to genealogies, most people reading the Bible just skip 'em. I know I usually do. But there is a lot of good stuff in Biblical genealogies that can give us big clues into the Bible. Here's a little bit about why genealogies in the Bible are important.
