Blessings this Week: 03.18.2016 Edition

I've been noticing the small things this week, as well as the big ones. And somehow, in the noticing, I open myself up to gratitude, to contentment, to wonder.

All about recognizing and giving thanks, friends.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

This past weekend, I had the chance to go on a women's retreat through church. Lots of laughter, lots of great food (seriously, great food), and stronger friendships as a result.

Not much sleep, but lots of laughter, and lots and lots of food.

Seriously, having this community and this church family has been an incredible blessing to me. I am learning so much about what it means to walk in faith, about the power of God's love, through the lives and relationships of these wonderful women.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

When I got back from the retreat, instead of going to bed early as I'd planned, Trevor and I stayed up until all hours catching up and just enjoying each other's conversation. I'm still amazed that God's given me this guy to share life with.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Despite my whining about it (ahem), I am really loving that daylight savings time means that I get home when it's still light outside, and it gives me a chance to really enjoy my surroundings.

And also, it's light enough to take this guy for a good stroll.

"Gettin' reeeaaal sick of you stopping to take pictures, lady."
...   ...   ...   ...   ...

The field across the road from us has been just covered with seagulls all week. I'm not sure why they don't like our field as much... but it's really something to see all those white birds covering the field.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Getting to see this dopey smile every morning (even though he's really just wiping drool on my sleeve and waiting for breakfast, I like to think he's happy to see me).

THIS WEEK

on The Speckled Goat... (just in case ya missed it)

We talked about Trevor's clean-freak tendencies and how it relates to Israelite sacrifice and also Jesus. Because everything comes back to Jesus.

And we also got to meet Daisy, a Featured Farmer with an incredibly inspiring story and a great, great sense of humor.

(Also, I'm running out of Featured Farmer stories! I'd love to have some more! If you would like to be featured, or know someone who might, you can send them this link here-- http://bit.ly/1UkqJF4 -- and it will take you right to the submission page. Thanks!)

And again, I'll remind you that the best way to be sure you're not missing a post (because FB is being tricky and won't show them all to you), is by subscribing by e-mail.

And you can do that right here:

  1. The caption about your dog getting tired of you stopping to take pictures made me laugh out loud...for real. Dogs aren't given enough credit for all the happiness that they bring to our lives.
