Blessings this Week: 10.02.2015 Edition

Life isn't perfect. It's painful, disappointing, inconvenient, and messy. But when we focus on all the things we don't have, on all the things gone wrong, and on all the mistakes and screw ups, we forget the truth that life is a gift

Counting the blessings reminds me of that, and helps me to choose joy.

THIS WEEK

What's new this week on the blog?

A Spark of the Divine

When it comes to all the work we're putting in on our farmhouse, getting things just the way we want them (or, you know, close enough, anyway), it can feel like we're missing the boat. After all, there's so many other things we could be doing. So many other ways we could be spending our money and our time. But I think that the inner drive we have to make our homes beautiful, to restore, to reclaim, to rebuild, is just another way that we're like our Father.

Featured Farmers: Lisa's Story

I had the opportunity to interview Lisa of Fresh Eggs Daily and get the scoop about what she loves about caring for her backyard flock, what she doesn't love quite so much, and got some good advice as we start looking at things we'd like to do with our little farm someday! Check out the post!

UPCOMING

So, you know how I share a little bit about the blessings I'm counting each week? (Or at least, most weeks?)

It's been a life-changing practice.

For real. When I started counting blessings, I was having so much trouble finding joy in my life. You can read more about why I started counting and all that in this post here.

It's changed my perspective. It's changed how I see situations that aren't so great. It's made me a better wife and a better employee.

I want you to know some of this wonderful knowledge that God is not only love, but He loves you. I want you to find those gifts in tangible ways.

But first you have to start counting blessings.

I have a little incentive for you!

I'll tell you about it soon... but for now, I'd encourage you to get into the practice. It takes some practice to find blessings- it really does. It doesn't come naturally for most of us!

Count those blessings- and have a great weekend!
