Blessings this Week: 10.13.2017 Edition

It's somehow Friday again, and it's somehow already the middle of October, and I'm not sure where the time went or how this week has flown by, but the leaves are changing colors all around me and sometimes I feel like I'm missing it.

Counting blessings helps me cling to each moment, noticing, being present before it passes by.

Because goodness is it going fast.

It's really easy to lose yourself in the NICU.

Not physically, no, but emotionally. It's easy to focus everything on that tiny little baby and every change in oxygen level and heart rate and is he pooping enough?

My husband has been my champion in reminding me to take care of myself. Last weekend, we spent a good two hours hiking in a nearby park- it was lovely and the weather was great and the trails were pretty awesome. There was fresh air and sunshine and lots of talking, and no monitor dings.

It was just what I needed.

Our little guy has been spending more time awake this week- often awake and wiggling. We're making progress. He's working on eating- he has the concept down, but gets sleepy quickly. It's hard work to be so cute!

Some cold nights rolled in this week- and it was time for the first fire of the season back at home. I wasn't able to be there, but Trevor got this picture for me.

My guys have had some good cuddle time this past week

I thought it was so cute that the baby was holding on to Trevor's shirt pocket! Precious.

Have a great week, and count those blessings!

  1. How very sweet your little angel is! So precious. And you look great! So glad you could get outside and away from the stress for a bit. Hope you get to do it more often. Praying often for you and your little family that baby will be strong and healthy and you will all be together at home soon.

  3. Love the last picture - you are right, holding that pocket is so precious! I'm glad Trevor is making sure you get some time to take care of yourself - remember, if you don't take care of you, you have nothing to give to anyone else. You look so happy out there on that hike! Praying for your family to be together at home soon!
