Blessings this Week: 02.12.2016

Ah, this week.

Who would have thought that 50-mile-an-hour wind and blizzard like whiteout conditions could be a blessing?

My God did, apparently.

It's been that kind of a week.

Saturday morning waffles with honey butter, and the husband who made them.

Monday brought another snow day. Or, wind day. We couldn't see the barn from our living room, the snow was blowing so badly. Pictures didn't do it justice.

And it was really the best day. Cozy and together and connected.

Our commute to and from work just seems to be filled with incredible things in the sky. Between the sunrises and sunsets, and then the random rainbows (snow-bows?), God must know that I love it when He speaks in beautiful skies.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

A busy week at work, full of getting the word out about summer camps. It's the best kind of busy- the excited, anticipating-God-moving-mightily kind of busy.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Evening walks in the pasture along the creek.

and these two who went with. Bear was so funny- running back and forth to smell everything.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

My snow boots have been nosily clomping their way toward death this winter- a tear in one, a broken string in the other. They were  $6.99 at Goodwill (the sticker is still on the inside of the left one) and I bought them four years ago in Chicago.

I like 'em. I like 'em a lot. But they've had a good run. I was planning on getting a new pair next winter, maybe. I hadn't told my husband about that, though. The old boots work fine for now.

And then Trevor came to my office with these.

I'm grateful for the new boots, and even more grateful for the man who thinks of me and cares for me always.

THIS WEEK

I love interviewing ladies in ag about their experiences, and getting to know Krista was a treat! I love her take on the importance of encouraging others. Go read the post!

A quick look at how I'm making Bible study a priority, even when it's hard.

You can see my messy handwriting and how I am leaning in to Psalm 139 here, and if you'd like to sign up to receive Bible Reading lists to your e-mail,

Have a great week-- find the blessings!

  1. I love these reflections, they're simply beautiful. I enjoyed going on this mini journey with you, it made me want to notice and write such special moments and reflections in my own days so I can hold on to them a bit longer, and appreciate more their offerings! Visiting from #smallwonder today! Lovely to visit!
