Blessings this Week: 02.17.2017

It's already time to recap the week!

The week started with a much-needed snowstorm. I answered calls and drank coffee in my nice cozy house and watched the snow fall.

On our day off this week, I spent a some time walking good old Bear who's been sorely neglected lately- we took a nice long walk around the neighborhood, enjoying the sunshine, sniffing stuff, and peeing on almost every shrub. (The last two were just him, not me.)

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Also on our day off, we sat around watching silly movies and doing nothing. It was needed.

Further, I love these socks that I got for Christmas.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Some of our neighbors dropped by...

... and looked right into the windows. Friendly, but they could use some boundaries.

The dog, hooked up right around the corner of the house, did not notice. At all. The freeloader.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

We have a fancy camera at work, and while I was testing out the zoom feature, I took this picture of my guy.

I love that face.

And also, I may have a fancy camera on my Christmas list for next year. It's bigger than my head, but I could lug it around, right?

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

I also got to meet a dear online friend of mine this week-- Caroline from In Due Time and her husband Colby stopped by and took a quick snowmobile tour! It was so fun to meet her in person. I've been reading her words for so long, and it was good to hug her in real life!

THIS WEEK

on the blog...

I don't know about you, but I've always thought of the parables as condensed, easy-to-swallow versions of Jesus' teaching. Growing up in the church means that I've heard so many of these parables in sanitized, children's-church messages... but it's taken a while for me to allow these stories to mature with my faith as I've gotten older.

As it turns out, Jesus's reason for using parables weren't to make them easier to understand... but to make them harder to swallow. {Read the post: Unexpected}

  1. We live in rural SW Michigan and have nosy neighbors too lol! They like to come check out our bird feeder and have a little snack. I love our little piece of property so much but have to say your view is so beautiful. I will most likely live here in Michigan the rest of my days but I love to visit the mountains.
