This lovely lady who came to visit (yes, that is my front yard.)

and her gentleman caller, who looked just like a poster turkey for Thanksgiving

New additions to our camp family (six of them!)

Our summer staff members slowly arriving to camp, and the energy and joy they bring

Unseasonably cool weather this week, but I'm not complaining!

We got to use the fireplace once again before summer!

The light falling just so on the oak leaf outside.

Worth It
It looks as though marriage is under attack.

As a culture, we're getting quickie divorces, adultery is rampant, pornography is considered routine... it's just a mess.

But honestly? Yes, those things are harmful to a healthy marriage and to marriage as a whole.

But the true enemy of marriage?

Me.

Yep.

Sometimes, the biggest miracles come from the most ordinary things. Like dirt, and water, and your 9-5 job, and your conversation over a cup of bad coffee.

Have a great weekend- and don't forget to find those blessings!

  1. You run a camp? I did not know that. That is so cool. What is that like? I just saw it in your about me and I think that is so fascinating! What a great job!

    1. Well, I wouldn't say that we run it... we work at a camp, though, and we're blessed to be part of the staff (with 15 other people!)

It's... well, it's really something. Haha. We love our jobs, and it's great to know that we're making a difference! Even if turkeys do poop on our welcome mat. ;)

  2. Well I have never had a turkey on my lawn, that's for sure. That is great you run a camp. I used to love going to church camp as a teen. My husband was a camp counselor up in Oregon one summer and loved it too.

    1. Yeah, the turkeys are an interesting camp feature. They actually disappear when the counselors and campers show up, so it won't be long until they're a rare sight... at least until September!

We really enjoy being part of this ministry!
