Blessings this Week: 12.18.2015 Edition

We had a bit of a whirlwind few weeks (which is why I missed last week's blessings post- forgive me!). I'm going to attempt to catch up a little, here. Wish me luck.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

After all that snow, we've had warm weather and rain, and lots and lots of mud. I just love these big, muddy boots on the porch.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

I'm reminded how thankful I am for our "Camp family." They are all so dear to us.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

We got to spend some time with one of my sisters this past weekend- we had lots of fun on our road trip to Chicago and our stop at Wisconsin Dells

We even got our meal delivered by train one evening!

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

The warm weather meant that we were able to do a little walking around at the Dells, too. Such a beautiful piece of Creation.

... and we got to meet these remarkably friendly (and very well fed) ducks.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Our Chicago trip, as short as it was, gave us the opportunity to go to an extended family Christmas party and visit with relatives from both sides of our family. It is always such a blessing when we get to spend time with our loved ones- it may not happen as often as we'd like, but the memories we make are so special

....   ...   ...   ...   ...

We're grateful for relatives who let us freeload and eat all their chip dip. ;)

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Apparently there are big changes ahead for Trevor and KK, but I just really need to work  harder.
...   ...   ...   ...   ...

We continue to make slow but steady progress on our farmhouse-- the unpacking is moving right along, and we expect carpet to go down soon!

THIS WEEK

In case you missed it:

I'm prepping my planner for 2016- and here are some free printables so I can share my obsession with you. Come to the dark side. We have colorful planning tools.

Speaking of obsession, I'm protecting my hardwood floors because geez, I spent a long time on those things- here's how I'm keeping them scratch-free as long as possible while also being slightly reminiscent of an elementary school.

I NEED YOU

Contrary to what this post may make you believe (ahem), this little blog isn't really just about me. I care about you. I love you guys.

And I really care about what you want to read- what you struggle with, what you think is boring and terrible, what you like reading here on this little site of mine. And so I'm asking- what do you want to see on The Speckled Goat in 2016?

In all honesty, of the responses I've received to this survey so far, 70% have been from my mom. So, if you don't really want to read about "how wonderful ur mom is" for the next 12 months, please, please answer the following 6 questions.

(Mom, I love you. You're such a good survey taker, and you're definitely my most loyal reader. You and my 5- and 3-year-old nieces.)

Have an awesome week, and remember to count those blessings!

  1. Did you get a lizard with your train delivered meal, or did you eat lizard?

    1. Ah, I probably should have explained that better, huh? Haha!

They had little toys ride the train along with our meals and beverages- Elmo had napkins under his arm, there was a random lizard... I just don't even...
