Blessings this Week: 12.04.2015

As Christmas approaches, I'm trying to be intentional about avoiding some of the mayhem and really taking time to reflect- to think- to process- to be present.

And counting my blessings is one way I do just that.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Just to be sure that we didn't think this winter thing was a fluke, November went out with a howl, and more snow.

(And my husband, who turned off the windshield wipers so I could get this shot, without me even asking.)

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

Last week's blessings were counted in advance of Thanksgiving, so I didn't get to include this picture, or the five little blessings who make their aunt and uncle's lives so full.

(Blurry because they can't all sit still at once, you know!)

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

We had late nights most of the week, with Trevor clearing snow both at work and at home, a few appointments, and some late meetings. But even so, progress continues on the house!

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

My co-worker- and his little boy, too- came a little late to a meeting one morning, and the chairs were all taken. The little boy sat on the ground, until he noticed that his dad was crouching... and then the little boy got off the floor and crouched, too.

The extent of Christmas decorating this year... but I like it a whole lot.

(Not pictured? The stack of envelopes, random flashlight, and 2 mesh bags of tennis balls, which are also sitting on top of this cabinet...)

THIS WEEK

In case you've missed it... here's what's been going down around ye little blog this week:

Refinishing Hardwood Floors: The Tips and The Tools
Yep, still talking about floors. ;) I wanted to collect all my hardwood floor posts in one place, now that it's done (HURRAY!), and also write a bit about all the stuff we used that I wouldn't have thought we needed. Good thing my husband has been around the block a time or two... otherwise we'd have gone to the hardware store way more than we did.

We've officially entered into the Advent season... which leaves many of us feeling like we're missing something. Christmas has lost that magic, the wonder, the special "thing" that makes Christmas so special as a kid. But it doesn't have to be that way-- we can reclaim the magic

This post is actually part of a "blog tour," whatever that means, hosted by Blogs by Christian Women. There are a bunch of bloggers all taking part in writing a little something- you can check out all the bloggers involved here
